Mary Beth has been in love with Nick for years and when he asked her to marry him she quickly and ecstatically accepted. She is upset at his reservedness when it comes to marital relations but she loves him desperately and is willing to overlook it..but at times it seems like he doesn't even want to make love to her! Mary Beth wants to create the kind of happy family that she did not have growing up and is heartbroken when she is unable to conceive right away.
