Several years ago, we wrote that the road to economic recovery in both the U.S. and abroad was likely to be a slow and somewhat arduous path: for every two uncertain steps forward we seem to take a big step back. And, with the end of 2013 in sight, that prediction certainly appears to have come to pass, although the past twelve months has not been without its fair share of twists and turns along the way.(...)
